Dear AMAC friends,
Lebanon is in crisis. Our compatriots, living in the very land many of us once called home, are enduring unimaginable suffering. Fear of bombings, widespread unemployment, and closed schools have worsened an already dire situation, following the devastating economic collapse and banking crisis. The most recent bombings have only compounded the hardships caused by a relentless series of disasters dating back to the 15-year civil war. What was once the “Switzerland of the Middle East” is now a nation struggling for survival—its people devastated, impoverished, and uncertain of their future.
In the face of such profound suffering, the Armenian Missionary Association of Canada (AMAC) cannot stand idly by. Compelled by God’s love, we must act—and we will.
To mark AMAC’s 40th Anniversary and to stand in solidarity with the resilient people of Lebanon, we are organizing a benefit concert in Toronto titled “Together for the Armenians of Lebanon.” This special event will feature the beloved Armenian group Spyurqi Tsayn (Սփյուռքի Ձայն) and other renowned artists, all coming together to raise critical funds to support our compatriots in need.
The concert will be held on November 24, 2024, at the Hamazkayin Theater of the Armenian Youth Center (50 Hallcrown Pl, North York, Ontario).
All proceeds from this event will directly support the Armenian community in Lebanon, with a special focus on sustaining Armenian schools that are lifelines for our heritage and future.
This is where you can make a real difference. Whether by attending, sponsoring, or simply donating, your contribution will offer tangible help to those who need it most. Every dollar raised will provide vital support to families, children, and schools, helping to ensure that hope endures in the face of hardship.
Please join us in making this concert a powerful expression of our solidarity and love. For those unable to attend, we welcome and deeply appreciate donations of any amount.
Donations can be made online at www.amacnews.org or by sending a check to AMAC, 11455 Rue Drouart, Montréal, QC, H3M 2S6, Canada. (with “Lebanon Crisis” noted in the memo line).
